    Hey folks, first post here.

I'm looking at an 85 Interceptor VF500 this weekend. I haven't rode since high school...eons ago.

I've been reading a bunch of posts here, trying to learn about the bike. Was wondering if anyone could suggest a few obvious things to look for, or ask about?

The main thing to worry about is the overall condition of the bike. Was it taken care of? What's the history? What's the mileage? How often were oil changes done? Does it look abused? Has it been modified and is so, why? These were good, reliable bikes. Go through the same decision making logic that you would use as if you were buying a used car.

MAKE SURE THE DAMN CARBS HAVE BEEN CLEANED AND WORK!!!

Start it up various times, not just once (like i did).

I love my bike even though its sitting at a walmart parking lot not working at the moment.

Ah, yes, but it's fair warning that any old, used bike needs to be checked out well and any VF 500 especially well.
