just had Pineapple Honda in Oakland do my 16k valve adjust -- I do the oil and other piddly stuff so that helped as far as cost. Cost for valves = $240.00, which was exactly what Karl Marsh told me it would be. And, whereas HoM was booked a month in advance, they could take me within a week or so.

I also had them check the run-out on the front rotors as I have been getting some vibration in the brake lever for some time now. Sure enough, the front left rotor is warped. Since I've got an extended warranty they're going to cover it. This did raise my costs to $300 even, paying for the mechanics time to do the inspection. (maybe I'll have to ask about whether that expense might be something covered by the warranty, too) Interesting note, I think the owner was getting flack from Honda about the rotor. Despite the grief he was getting, it seemed apparent to me that he wanted to do the right thing and cover the work, as the warranty should.

My only *gripe* (and this is sooooo minor to me that I had a hard time deciding whether to mention it or not, but thought you all should know about the total experience): they're a little slow. They kept the bike for two days. Ron, the [previous] owner [Karl told me they've just been bought by HoM] of the shop is very professional and courteous. He told me straight up that they were slow, as in careful and exacting. I know that Karl had mentioned that they were careful and slow, next time I'll just plan for it.

On the day I dropped my bike off I was stuck lugging around my Joe Rocket suit and boots, etc. and they were nice enough to give me a ride to the BART station.

I will most definitely go back to them for any service that I can't do myself. I highly recommend them.

As for the valves, not a one was out of spec.

my .02, as always, change gladly given...
