This is a bike im lookin at buying and this your reading is a description of what the owner is saying about it.

*The main problem with this bike is 4th gear. The other five work great- 4th will cruise no problem, but when you try to give it any big power, it jerks and acts like the chain is slipping. May be a easy fix, may not. I have not had that issue looked at. I was told this when I bought the bike and it has not gotten any better or worse in my ownership.*

    Thank you for any help...

Danger Danger! more to the liklyhood that somethings a miss in the panatery gear shaft Is my first guess. unless it's a super good deal on a bike that rocks your boat, I'd stay away.

No 4th gear, you say now you could live without it, but i bet you in a couple of months it might be a different tune. Gear shaft work is not cheap, two owners now and they did nothing to fix the problem, what's that tell you. My advise would be to save your money ( there is always credit)and get something with no mechanical flaws. You can get a decent bike for around $3000.00

BTW, Where in Washington are you located and :welcome:

there is a reason it is a cheap deal

if it were a cheap/easy fix, the current owner would have likely done it long ago, or at least before selling it

Unless you are super mechanically inclined, and it doesn't sound that way, I would say stay away.

If you really want it, try bringing it to a dealer and see what the service department says. Might cost you an hour of diagnostic time, but would give you a better idea of what you are potentially in for.

Pass on this one! The cost of fixing it plus the cost of the bike will be more than the price on finding and buying a good ride up front. Plus - if gears are chewed up the loose metal is in the case and could screw-up more tranny and engine bits!

Avoid - Run Away! There are plenty of good low mile bikes out there.
