Just curious if anyone else has seen this issue. I've got an 03 VFR with about 3K miles on it. Recently I took a trip over some higher mountain passes (I'm in Colorado) - elevations varied between 10,000 and 12,000 feet. At some point on each of the three passes my viffer died on me (usually more than once per pass). Nothing dramatic - the engine just stopped. It's never done it before or after, only at high altitude. Does anyone have any thoughts on what might cause that? The only thing I noticed was that the idle was a few hundred RPM lower on the passes.

something may be wrong with one of the many F.I. sensors....barometric perhaps.

or maybe icing up of the throttle bodies???

I live in Boulder. I fequently ride at these altitudes and have not had the problem you describe. Did it happen just when you were climbing?

I've been riding the mountains here in NM, 10K – 11.5K, and haven't had any problems. Did you notice anything different with the bike other than it dying?
