    Hi everyone

    Kev, from west Cornwall.

51, no im not bald, i shave my head. Ok we'll amend that, no im not entirely bald, so i shave my head to make it look like i want it this way. A bit like falling in a swimming pool fully clothed, and doing a width just so people thought you meant to fall in.
    anyway...

Just "won" my first VFR on ebay. 1998 800 FI. Things might be interesting, its not just me first VFR, its me first ever Honda.

I've always had Kawasakis, GPzs, ZX6Rs, ZX10... This one seemed such a good deal that i hit the buy it now button. Thats how I have bought every ebay bike I have ever had, except this time i was sober.....

In fact this old VFR was intended as a "second" bike while I do up my really old (1988) ZX10..... But having looked around the forums I'm getting a feeling that I ought to have gotten a VFR a lot sooner

looks like a good forum, and I've already availed meself of a pdf service manual, and awaiting delivery of the bike, on a van, booked on ebay.

    A pattern is forming, isn't it ;)

welcome to vfrworld. If you see pics of me in the galleries you'll see I sport a similar hairstyle... also I ride a 98 VFR in red. What color was 98 over on that side?

hey all, thanks for the friendly welcome.

well, to answer reg71's question, this one is (metallic) black.

richard: you'd have a kawasaki museum if you still had em all in the garage ;)
    my kwaks were:
    kh250 triple.
I was 17 then, i think it spent most of its time up on the back wheel plane-spotting, amazed im not dead, a mental 250 2-stroke, L plates, no training, the cheapest helmet in the shop (Centurion X, £4.95), yokohma tyres, fifty pence worrth of five star because you didn't know any better, and off you went in your "normal" clothes, platform shoes and all, plus a pair of grey ex-luftewaffe gloves from the army and navy stores .... (give me a break, it was 1975 after all)
    gpz400
    gpz500
    gpz550
    zx6r F2
ZX10 B1 (still in the garage)

Looking forward to the VFR, although at the the moment its still in a van somewhere en-route.
Seems to have a whole bunch of things that are new for me to explore: linked brakes, FI, V4, honda badges....

Nobody I know, whatever they own seems to have a bad word for VFRs, including a couple of motorbike mechanics I know.
I wonder why i never ever even looked at one before? Probably because it didn't have a kawasaki badge.

I will post some pics when I can.

Meanwhile I'll just hang around the forums and leech information, lol, not really much I can contribute yet.
