Whats ya think?  Honda : Interceptor:eBay Motors (item 220474720049 end time Sep-10-09 00:00:00 PDT) just playing out the options...
It's a nice bike but if I would prefer an earlier year 5th Gen with catless headers. The price seems pretty fair considering the bike upgrades. Mileage is relatively low considering the age of the bike. I'd like to add a 5th Gen to my stable on day. Regards, Rollin
Not sure about prices there but that yellow Gen 5 looks a goodun with usefull touring add ons and new R2s, wonder how well the driving light works on the fork ?
Looks like a nice ride, but $5k starting bid? Whoa, too high to start. It does have lots of nice stuff.... I bought my 5th gen off ebay and I'm still debating if that was a good idea or not. I didnt discover that it was a CA model till I did the first oil change and the deal was done. The bike turned out fine, but I dont like surprises. I think I have decided that I have to inspect a bike directly before I would consider buying it, so I'll pass on EBay vehicles for now. MD
If it's as good as it looks, and with all those desirable and pricey extras, I think it's worth $5K. More than that? Depends on how badly you want it. By the way, I have Corbin Beetle Bags. They look great, but aren't nearly as practical or usable as standard style Givi, Coos, etc. cases. I've used them for touring, but I may change them out for something else. Now if you can find a '98 with that mileage and all those extras for under $5K, you'd really have something.
Whats wrong with a CA model, exactly? I am sure it's the emissions requirements, but with regard to the VFR, specifically - does it make the VTEC engagement even more abrupt? Just wondering, as I just purchased a California 08 VFR myself...
Buy it...that way you can go about the usual business of doing comparisons of 10 year old technology vs. 13 year old technology. I can hardly wait......
Ah, so the 'CA' models are really for 5th generations and older. Thanks for clearing it up for me...
looks nice and clean with low miles. but 5k starting bid is a high. good luck on your search. here are some to consider: Honda VFR Interceptor for Sale 2002 Honda VFR 800 Interceptor Honda VFR800 Interceptor, fast, comfortable, Fun! 98 VFR 800 VFR800 over $1k in upgrades 2003 Honda VFR 800
My bike's a 5th gen, so no VTEC. Really nothing wrong with the Ca model, but given a choise between a 49 state and Ca bike I would pick the 49 state. I bought the bike from a guy in Indianapolis, and the last thing you would think about is whether the bike is from Ca. - Just lilke to know what I'm buying. MD
Well - lets try again.....California has had its own set of emissions requirements since (?) 90's? ---So every vehicle manufacturer has had to make sure that anything they sell in CA passes that set requirements. So for VFR - at least the 4th/5th/6th (maybe 3rd?) has had a CA model just for California. It may be possible that Honda built the 6th as one model to pass everything in the US including California. Hope that helps, MD
