Nothing special needed for your bike on BC Ferries. They will park you up front in your early and on the back if you're late. Just angle park and they have blocks for the engine and wheels.

I'm going to "sign up" officially.

I might go over Wed. night and stay at my sister's place in Langford. She live's very close to the Mllstream + Hwy 1 meeting area Borg mentioned. I'm thinking the 0700 ferry people (arr. Swartz Bay at 8:35) will get there about 9ish.

    Looking forward to it!!

I went to Atascadero Ca. in the spring. So what's the problem?

Bring Bro along. I just may have a tag along too. But he rides a....Suzuki....stabard

Time is counting down and we have 11 potentials. Any others jump in. We might have to make this an annual too. Maybe next year and overnighter with a BBQ. We can always rent a group site at a Provincial Campground. We will see.

The road to Lake Cowichan from Port Renfrew used to be a logging rd which was recently paved, it has lots of curves but you do need to watch out for gravel at some corners. The last time I was on it, I only came across a handful of cagers and other bikes, no logging trucks.

Thanks for welcoming my brother to the group ride, he's loading up his bike in a truck this weekend, should be arriving on Sunday.

As others else have mentioned, you don't need any special tie downs for your bike on the ferry. The blocks are readily available for use, they can be found at either end of the ferry. You would typically have your bike on its side stand, have it in gear and place the block on the right side of the bike.

We'll meet around 0900'ish at The Chequered Flag restaurant for breakfast unless others have a different suggestion. It is a good starting point for our day ride and they serve good breakfast.

Chequered Flag Pub - EatMe Canada - The Food Search Engine

Then we can end our ride at The Loghouse Pub which is just across the street from Chequerd Flags. They cater to riders of all kinds, they even have parking spots for MC's only, plus great food.

The Loghouse Pub - EatMe Canada - The Food Search Engine

Along the way we can hit the other restaurants/cafes I have previously mentioned for stretch breaks depending on how the ride is going.

I like the idea of this event becoming an annual ride, that'd be awesome.

The long range forecast for weather looks very good for the 10th

There maybe be door prizes from The BIKERS' DEN as well.

    Hi guys,

New to the site but not the VFR.

I am a 40 year old born again biker from the UK living on the Surrey Langley border. I have a black 2006 bought new in the summer of 2007, that whilst I had a job used to commute to Burnaby from Langley every day.

I was wondering if you had room for one more?

Erm, my only concern is that I am not a fast rider, I like to bimble along and enjoy the scenery and stuff.

    Cheers guys

    Charlie

Thanks for the welcome guys. Looks like I have a busy couple of weeks on the bike coming up. This weekend the wife and I are going to do the Cascades run, then out with you guys on Thursday and then next weekend a buddy and I (and our wives) are doing the Lillooet loop.

Are the LMD riders meeting somewhere before the ferry? Or are we just heading there for the 7am ferry?

Excellent question... Randy? Maybe we can meet just before the Ferry booths or something like that. We'll have plenty of time to catch up while were held captive on the boat.

WTF man. Do I have to do everything? I thought of the idea isn't that enough? I'm exhausted!

    Well sheit.

If we are going to make an 09:00 ish meet in Victoria, and that would be pushing it a bit, we LMDers will have to catch the 07:00 out of Tsawwassen. I suggeste we all hit the fairy at once. (poor fairy ) Meet at the booth. Maybe target for 06:45 to be sure to get there on time.

Once over the pond, we can head straight for the Chequered Flag at 2345 Millstream Rd, Victoria and meet up with Borg and anyone else from the island. We can then take Borg's lead on where we stop for lunch and diner seeing as this is his back yard.

Thanks for the interest everyone. It can only get better for next year.

I am sure there will be a bit of both spirited riders and those of us older fuggers who may be more laid back. So something for everyone.

See you Thursday morning. I'm going rain or shine.

I am certainly going to be there (unless we are under HEAVY rain).

At the terminal look for the fat bloke on a black viffer looking slightly lost and confused

If I were you, I would slab it up the I-5 which becomes the 99 in Canada. Tsawwassen is just on the other side of the border right there. I will arrange your clearance at the border.

What's with the rain worry? I thought you were from the UK? I ride from Chilliwack to Surrey every day as long as there is no snow...and have been caught in that too.

Gotta go. The guys with the white uniforms are looking for me...

Oh yeah, I am quite used to the rain. I used to commute every day from Langley to Burnaby, and like you have even been caught in the snow. Its just not fun LOL.
