I love my VFR, hate the ugly rear turn signals moulded right into the rear cowl.
Has anyone ever seen rear tail sections from other years or modelseasily installed on a gen 3? I did try search, but no joy there.
    Any photos appreciated.

You may want to send a message to user VFRHUSBAND and ask how he fabricated the tail on his wife's 3rd Gen. If I remember correctly he modified the tail section from a Yamaha R6. Pretty sweet if you ask me.

I was thinking of getting a rear section from Airtech, and glassing over the integrated lights, then using whatever I liked.

Why don't you get the rear tail from a NR from poly26.com and put whatever you want behind those screens. Or maybe a 5th gen tail, or even an R1 tail. Or even a RC51 tail.

Seriuosly, you can make what ever you want fit, with enough time and $$$$.

Just trying to identify any alternate tails that are the closest match, meaning less $$$ and effort to make it fit. After all i'm the newbie here, and you folks have the benefit of longer experience with the gen 3.

Youre right of course, with enough $$$ and time, I could make anything fit.

I'll check out poly26.com and also see if airtech has stock tails (for modifying) or a 'race' tail (that would not have the turn signal protrusions)

I wouldnt change a thing on my gen 3, it is so pretty like it rolled off the show room floor. Hoping she is the same in 20 years, and a class act.
If I wasn't going the tock route tho, vfrhusbands work on his ladies bike is a work of art. Everything just flows right.
    my 2 cents.
