Anyone had any success with the Works performance rear shock for a 84 VF700F? I'm looking at all options 1) Works performance, 2) Hyperpro shock 3) Working with a CBR600F2 shock.

The Works shocks are ok. My biggest concern is that they only adjust the spring rate but not the valving for each customer application. I've found their damping to be so-so, not great but not terrible either.

The Hyperpro shocks are a little better than the Works and good quality. I'm not sure they are available anymore though.

There are lots of options for using a modified CBRF2 shock as you suggest. You can upgrade the valving to have it setup exactly for you. At about 1/3 the cost of the other two you can have a shock that outperforms them both.
