Hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone has tried advancing the igniton timing on thier VTEC VFR's. I just installed the pc3 usb and I was hoping that it would be just as easy as throwing on an ignition module, but I don't think that there were any made for the VFR's and they seem pretty model specific. Does anyone have any other ideas?
I've pulled quite a bit of power out of this bike already, but I was just hoping that I could pull a bit more out with out cracking the engine open or spending $5k on the supercharger... Thanks for your help:biggrin:

I can't find the thread, but one of the guys in the UK said he had found a source for add on module that would let you adjust timing as well as fuel. It was expensive, around 550 pounds. I've never seen anything like it for sale here.

well this is the link to ECU still getting info from them but you can control the V-tec with it as well

    RTD Ltd - Products - EMX-01

also you can slot the cam gears and degree them in for some more power.

and hey NCB get your guy to make some more cams and post them for sale please

The set up in the link above is only a piggy back on euro modles only and can be used as a stand alone on US bikes.

ill try and look up the link when i get some spare time...
also i remember reading somewhere, i think it was on a 98 or 99, he had a powercommander 2 on it. when he installed it he couldnt get it tuned right. it kept knocking and violently shaking everytime he got on the gas. it turned out that the early pc's had a timing adjustment on them and it was fully advanced! he was tuning on 87 octane so it couldnt take the extra timing. as soon as he backed off on the timing a little, it ran great!
sooooooo if the 5th gens could be adjusted, with a stock ecu, i dont see why the sixth gen couldnt be advanced as well...
