TwoBros and Erion are the only companies that I'm aware of that make headers for the 98-01 VFR . Anybody have them? Are they worth the $500-$700 that they cost. I'm thinking that the only real benifit will be, like maybe 3-4hp and a loss of like 10 lbs from the bike.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

    Howdy,

I have a full TwoBros on my 98 VFR. It weighs a lot less than the stock stuff. Also, because it is stainless, it does not rust. However, it will discolor a little from the heat but nothing that looks bad. The header pipes have a nasty internal rattle that is only noticeable right when the bike is started. I'm guessing an internal baffle or something has come loose. It has about 25K miles on it since installing the header and pipe. It is getting a little loud now ;D

I have erion headers and a staintune high mount carbon on my 2000 vfr.The headers sharpened the bike up from 2000rpm up and holds max hp to 12000rpm.The ticking noise they make on first start up is just the exhaust noise from each cylinder in the collector in thin wall ss tube. The erion headers come with springs to hold the header pipes into the collector. These rattle alot, and should be provided with rubber spring covers. The bike gained about 4-5 hp at the tyre from the headers and takes off from 8-12000.The bike made 111.1hp at the tyre at 11000 and 110 from 10500-12000.I have since ceramic coated the headers and the torque feels flatter and definitely gives better off idle torque.I haven,t dynoed the bike since.Considering a stock vfr makes 94-95hp at the tyre on the same dyno its not a bad improvement,Especially with 1 tooth less on the front sprocket.
