I'm looking into using Red- Kote to seal the tank on my 1984 VF700F. I heard the Kreem product can cause more problems then it's worth. Has anyone tried either of these products?

I've been told POR-15 is the way to go. I haven't tried it yet but that's what I'm planning on using to seal some tanks.

I just ordered the Caswell stuff that squirrelman recomends. I have read several other places that it is the way to go. Ill update on my thread to let you know my thoughts when im done.

I used the Caswell epoxy to seal my tank over a year ago. Was easy and worked great!

There has been many reports of the epoxy in the Kreem kit not sticking to the tank. It peels off like a bad sunburn but you don't notice it until it's too late. I'm not sure if it has to do with the Kreem kit or the preparation done by the user. Since I've been concerned about it, I use the Kreem A+B only kit. That kit only has the etcher and dryer so you get a clean, etched tank only. That's worked pretty well for me, just be sure to fill the tank with fuel right away or it will rust fast..... like overnight kind of fast.

Kreem is kinda rubbery and soft, while Caswell material is a clear epoxy harder than rock.......

i don't see why anyone would etch-clean a tank and not immediately epoxy coat it to prevent re-rusting????
