I know this isn't really a "body accessory", but I felt someone might find this useful.

I am by no means a expert detailer. In fact, I pretty much suck at it & my bike is more often dirty that sparkly. All I care is if the bike runs & rides correctly. That being said, I am always looking for a easier way to get my bike to look it's best.

Turtle Wax ICE is absolutely the EASIEST wax/detailer I've used. It goes on like normal wax & then you spritz it with the spray & microfiber it to a lustrous shine. It' looks like you can go swimming in the paint. Highly recommended.

Awesome on bikes (but still not as good as the Honda Proline spray cleaner/wax). No residue whatsoever. Not very long lasting, though.

My only gripe is that is will get into the cracks between your fairings. You'll think that you've buffed it all out, but as soon as you get some air going through the bodywork, it will "bleed" the ICE out, and dirt will stick to it.

This stuff is CRAP on cars, it lasts all of a few days before it looks just like it did before you applied it.

Turtle Wax is not by any means a great product.
It may look nice for a couple of days and may be easy to apply and remove but the fact is that is does not protect paint well.
There are only a few product lines that I would recommend:
    1. Poorboys world
    2. Menzerna
    3. Meguires Detail Line
    4. Klass
    5. Most other Professional Detailing products are probably OK

Keep in mind that these products are a little more expensive but well worth the added protection and peace of mind.

Here is a good proceedure to follow for a full detail.

    1. Degrease wheels and undercarriage with an All Purpose Cleaner and Wash entire Bike with automotive soap.
    2. Clay bar entire bike (Painted Surfaces)
    3. Wipe down bike with a Waterless Wash (I use Poorboys World Spray and Wipe, also a good Clay lube)
    4. Start Polishing with a Mild abrasive Polish such as SSR2 or similiar.
    5. Polish again using a less abrasive Polish to get out remaing spider webbing/ Swirl Marks and add gloss.
    6. Use a Final polish
    7. Here is a good time to apply a Glaze to hide any imperfections and bring out depth.
    8. Apply thin coats of your LSP (Wax, Sealant)

Now you can simply use a waterless wash to maintain the Bikes shine or any Quick Deatail Spray.

I also use Dual action and Rotary Polishers with different pads depending on the products being used and how much paint correction is necessary.

If anybody has any questions regarding Detailing Bikes, Cars, Boats I will be happy to answer to the best of my knowledge.

I use Ice on the bike and both trucks. I love it. It's easy to apply and remove, but doesn't last long. I reapply every other month or so. It's easy, so I don't mind.

Thanks for the info. When I run out of the napa spray and shine, I will try to remember to give the ICE a try. I too don't go in for detailing. As someone mentioned, I am sure there are fine products for those that take the time to really detail their ride, but alas, I am not one of those. I would prefer to ride than shine. I have friends (cruiser guys) who wash their bike any time they drive thru high humidity. I have been lazy enough at times to use Plexus to make a nice slippery shine on the bike. I am sure I will be told how wrong that is, too. Oh well. Thanks again.

I too would rather Ride than Clean-up my Bike.
Whatever works best for you is what you should stick with. Plexus is probably not harmful to paint and I myself use it on my helmets to take off finger prints, bugs etc...
But nothing will do the job better or faster than utilizing a product designed to clean paint. Any good Detail Spray or the Honda Pro Polish is what I would be using on my bike and of course good Tagless Micro Fiber Towels.
On a side note I tried the S100 Total Cycle Wash once and will never use it again. I followed the directions to the "T" and it still discolored my Calipers and some of the Plastic on the bottom of the bike. It took a long time to fix that mistake.

don't wanna jack KC-10 here, the ICE sounds like good stuff, just maybe doesn't last too long...
TOTAL AGREEMENT with Cuttingedge... PLEXUS is amazing stuff. designed for aircraft. spray on, wipe off. i do the entire body and all lexan or plastics with it, helmet too.
can't be beat. most honda stores carry it. a can will last for many many wipe downs.
    bugs just wipe off.
