On my VFR700 I have a gap there. I don't have a solo cowl but I'm guessing it is for that. I was trying to think of a way to fill the gap by adding fiberglass or something to the tailpiece fairing, but that didn't seem very easy. I finally realized the way to do it is to take the seat apart, extend the rear lip with some heavy plastic or something like that, then put a longer cover back on. Might even be able to do it myself although I'm guessing some kind of special stapler is needed. Has anyone else dealt with this gap? How?
I'll be following this, as I have the same complaint on my 500. I think mine is worse from someone recovering, and modifying the padding in mine. Upside is that it is pretty comfortable!
My VFR700 is the same, I added a little on rear seat lip in foam but havn't got the bodywork painted yet. I know it won't be enough so I plan on moving the rear cowling forward and up a small amount, moving seat back a hair and living with what's left. captb
