I have a 2007 VFR800. When I bought the bike it already had Lojack installed. I took it to the local Lojack dealer and had it activated. I paid and drove the bike out of the shop and turned the bike off long enough to make a short phone call. When I tried to start it it would not start. The service manager put a meter on it and said it was ok. He said it was probably due to the service tech working on it. He jumped started the bike. Ever since then the bike is having problems restarting. I even bought a battery tender jr. and charge it when I start having problems. I drove it to work yesterday. It started ok in the morning but when I left at lunch the battery was dead. I had to jump start it. I drove 25 mins home and turned it off to open the garage. It would not restart. I never even had the first problem until they activated the Lojack. I have scheduled an appointment to have them look at it again this weekend. The service manager tried to tell me that it was nothing they did. Anyone have any Ideas.

Check your charging system. Use a meter and see what your system is producing for voltage. You should see it above 12v at idle and increase as you rev the motor. Mine gets up to 14v when you get up around 5K rpms. If your charging system is good you either have a bad battery or something in the Lojack system is draining it.

You have a problem with the Lojack install I would guess, I have Lojack and can leave it turned off for weeks without problems. Not sure what your "activate service" was, as it should have been installed active, if you will (it isn't really active unless the bike is stolen). You should have only had to change the name of ownership.

    Lojack Activation

The Lojack also has the early warning system. If the bike is moved with out the key fob near, it will send me a message and call me. I had to get the whole thing activated.

Mine will call me, page me and e-mail me if the bike is moved a small distance without the key fob close. Mine does not affect the battery on the bike.

I didn't think they offered that yet on bikes. Just the cars. Guess they have added it now, wonder if they can retrofit it...
