I did a search and didn't find the answers I was looking for so I'll turn it over to all of you- I want to buy the OEM hard bags for my 07 RWB and where is the least expensive place to buy? My local dealer quoted $1092.95 and a dealer in the Portland Metro said $1201 but said they would discount them if I ordered but didn't say how much of a discount- so I'm looking for the best place/deal to buy them. Share your knowledge people! Thanks

I don't blame you for wanting to have the color matched bags. I believe that the honda bags are also a little larger than the v35 bags as they can hold a full face helmet and the V35s are not advertised to do so. Your options for a better price on the bags are finding someone selling new or like new ones, I got mine for about $700 last year, and they were new.

On VFRD there's a thread about a honda parts dealer called Direct Line Honda. The thread is Oem Parts/ Honda Ext. Warranties - VFR Discussion and they claim to give the best prices. I think I remember folks getting the factory bags for a similar price range to mine.

I have found them a couple places for around $800 but it isn't clear if they include the mounting bracketry- I know the price I was quoted from the local dealers did. MSRP on Honda's website is $1000, so I ought to have some wiggle room with the dealers and won't have to pay shipping...

For anyone that's interested, I had one of the parts guys (from my previous job as a Honda tech for cars) look up the part # for the hard bags- because they are a car dealer they can't order them, but he could see list price/cost and that number is $670 or so, I don't remember the exact figure right now. So bear that in mind if you are gonna do some negotiating- the dealer needs to make some money but prob. not a 70% markup (I've been quoted $1200 from one place) Thought you guys should know

    Bags Ordered

When I contacted my parts dealer he said $1099 plus tax we talked a little, I told him I could get them cheaper on the net he ask from where I gave him two names, he checked then came down to $873 so I bought them. I'm sure somebody has gotten them cheaper off the net but I was there, it was easy, local dealer I want to support, worked with me......They will be in next week.

Thanks for all the help and info.

    Cheers, Tom

What 2 sites did you send him to?
I'd like the OEM bags as the givi bags seem to only hold small helmets and I have quite a large head  If I could get the set for that price I'd be much more interested in buying them. When I started looking online and saw $1000-$1200 I just decided to carry my helmet and jacket with me everywhere I go...

There are many discount Honda parts places, look in the back of Cycle World or Motorcyclist and then look at their websites.

Part number for blue bags is 08L52-MCW-1E0

    Good luck
    Tom

I'm not sure if the Givi's are truly smaller, but I went with the OEM's which I bought through my repair shop. He gets them from Ayers and doesn't mark them up.

Best feature is that my large Shoei fits with no issues. Also nice that the paint matches.

Paint matching is the only reason I'm not gonna go with the Givi's, will prob. do the Givi trunk though since it isn't painted

I told my local dealer I could get them on the 'net for $800, so he matched the price. So I had to pay tax, but saved on the shipping.
