Hi there, im fairly new to this but I did have a question I need help with. Now that it is warm here this time of year high 70's - 90's. If i leave my bike sit for a 3-4 hours, I still have to choke it to get it to start. Is this common for these, or should I check into this?

Just fine the way she is. Once engine is up to temp. turn the choke off. I see you that you joined back in June, hope you visit often. If the VFR is your 1st ride, you chose wisely.

My older bike is 1985 intercceptor. Will not start with no choke if left for more then an hour or so. I think that it is normal for THAT bike.

My newer bike is 1990 interceptor ( yes all I will ever own is interceptors most likely...)
And I choke it in the morning ( even tho my weather is the same as yours temp wise anyways ) I have been choking after work on my ride home at first, but today tried just snapping the throttle ( this is in the evening after sitting 5 hours since my lunchbreak ) started right up.

Hopefully someone with the same model can tell you how yours should act but thats how mine do.

    Cheers.

Hi Guys; Not to be fussy but I am pretty sure the VFR's use a fuel enrichment circuit
and not an actual choke. So the typical flap that gets closed on the carb.
to choke the motor does not exist, Honda carbs just have a circuit in them
that richens up the fuel mixture. eddie

Regardless of what it's actually doing, it's labeled on the handlebar as "choke".

My 4G does the same thing, this is normal.

Thats because its easier and takes up less space to print choke than
    fuel enrichment circuit . eddie
