Just want to clarify that vfrd is still going under vfrdiscussion.com
Looks like they just let one of there domains go.
Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.
I was not aware of the other domain and thought someone here would have some info on it.

To try and help you. I don't know why VFRD is down. Many of us on VFRW are very fierce loyalists to this site, even when we dislike the fellow VFRW members we chat with LOL!. So we tend to stay only here on VFRW. Also, a small band of VFRW members have been kicked out of VFRD for what seems to be unclear reasons. So that just fuels our disdain for VFRD.

Now I hope VFRD is not closing down becasue of health reasons or something bad. There are alot of tech savvy people on VFRD with some neat mods to their VFR's. But, if the site is closing down becasue people finally see how shitty that site really is, well then "it is what it is" as my supervisor says.

The best thing to do is PM Michael, he's our Administartor and he seems to have the scoop on the query you have proposed. At least he has in the past.

In addition, please feel free to hang out in VFRW. This site is filled with A-holes like myself and pretty much all are welcome...seriously, all are welcome. At times, I've almost joined VFRD for a break.

I know I don't post much but do freq both sites for info/grins so I thank
everyone here especially the 4th gen mod guys!! I've learned a lot.

Hey to all the 'A-holes' out there in VFRworld! (yes, I'm one as well!)

Looks like the admin at VFRdiscussion.com didn't renew the DNS entry for VFRD. (It's been down for two days) It is currently listed for sale but they will hold it for a period of time to give the current owner time to renew the 'name' in the DNS records.

If you are interested, you can still get to the site by going to VFR Discussion - vfrdiscussion.com. A lot of sites have multiple records (names) listed in the DNS tables on the internet, and it appears VFRD was just let lapse.

For instance, VFRWorld could also get listed as "www.TheBestVFRSiteInTheWorld.com" if Michael wanted that name as well! :smile:

As stated before, be careful what you do on 'the other VFR site', they have no sense of humor! :crazy:

 

Dito on both accounts, As being a member (sorta) there at first back in the days don't hold that against me please, I was one such member that was booted for really no good reason, maybe to the adman it was a good reason, like noted no sense of humor, Doh!, Yes, trend lightly over there. Also there are some great folks over there and some are here too, but for some reason they prefer the VFRD format, go figure.

I'm sure there's lots of good folks at VFRD. Let's not group them all into one. That would be like saying all NFL players run dog fighting rings.

 

It would be a shame if it were to go away. It has always been full of good technical knowledge. I totally agree on the no sense of humor part.

Also my condolances about that other vfrd site going under thing too... I tried that site once and didnt care for the navigation... probobly something I could get used to, but I prefer this one.

If vfrd goes down, at least you guys have this site as a backup.
