    mpg

In northern Arizona I thought I was hitting the crack pipe a little hard when I got 52-55 , in stock trim. It was only when the other on gen 6's were wonderin if they were drunk I spoke up and said I got the same.Granted we were doing 65mph on average due to high number of cops on the road and at about 4500 feet elevation.Since then I have installed a power commander and miles per gallon is down.....alot.I rode 931 miles last weekend and at 75mph constant I got 41 miles per gallon and at 95 it was closer to 36.In Nevada I ran a tank out at average speed of 135 and it was closer to a couple of miles to the gallon. It really was shockingly poor.Had to slow way down just to make it to the next gas station.

2007, stock. With soft luggage, duffle bag and tank bag, the best has been 50 or slightly more, holding between 4500-5000 RPM in sixth gear (I've manged that one time; it wasn't easy). Typical is usually 42, 5500 RPM in sixth (or thereabouts), with a little bit of higher speed in the mix.

The worst has been 37, no luggage, on lower speed curvy roads with a heavy right wrist.

Toecutter is more fun to ride with than a scientific calculator strapped to a gas tank. (Velcro is acceptable too)

With everyone tossing numbers around do y'all do anything about the mileage or do like us regular folks and just gas up again? Please don't sell your VFRs and buy Harleys.

You will become depressed after an initial rush.

 Just gas up again. I try to remind myself that low MPG equals potential traffic citations, and high MPG equals no traffic citations, but that's as far as it goes.

I have a stock 2006. With my 225lb can on it I religously get 36-38mpg. Mostly city driving.

My y2k got 52 on the slab, mixed country and some small city yields 42-44, grin accelerations brings it down to 35-38. I'd say I agree with those figures. ( 2 bros slip on, bmc air filter, and amsoil 10w40 motorcycle specific) Ride safe, Dave
