I'm going on a little ride with some friends this weekend down to Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky. The group is heading back on Saturday sometime. I'm thinking of taking two or three days more to ride the back roads of Kentucky and Tennessee. Danial Boone forest and Smokie mtn area look good. Or any good riding areas?

Any recommendations on good roads and places to stay (cheap) May be TP's in Pikesville TN to stay a night. Any cabins on a lake type stuff? Neat small towns to ride thru or stay a night? Stuff like that. Oh yea any places to stay away from? Cops?

    TIA

Are you looking for some fun twisties or just some nice scenic rides? Seeing that you are part of the "Interceptor Brotherhood" I'm sure someone in TN or KY will chime in shortly and offer you a free place to stay and a warm meal.

    Regards,
    Rollin

There are really no bad roads in east Tennessee. They all tend to wind their way through the mountains so even the interstates are twisty and scenic. There are plenty of camping spots all over the area, lots of lakes, rivers, and waterfalls as well.

Tellico Plains, TN is right at the foot of the Cherohala Skyway and the Nantahala National Forest and is a very scenic little town. There are a couple of motorcycle lodges there (Cherohala Motorcycle Lodge is one that I've stayed at) that have both camping and cabins. The Cherohala Skyway crosses the mountains over to near Robbinsville, NC and the Dragon. I tend to avoid the Dragon but really enjoy the Cherohala Skyway. It's really beautiful country around there.
