I'm sure of it too with it being underwater and all

    BTW

how many dollars are you willing to lay down???

The fact is the ECU is bone stock nissan....The fuel control is done using a high flow fuel pump and a upgraded VAC.. controlled FMU "fuel managment unit". It uses the factory knock sensor to adjust the timing and the nissan was nice enough to include a factory boost/temp sensor on a N/A motor??? go figure. And the Mass Air sensor (same as the Twin Turbo 300zx) can still read the volume of air the blower is making.

And Stillen is still around but they have been replace by "NISMO" nissan motorsports as the factory upgrade package provider. Although the STILLEN stuff is nicer...but higher priced.

The only thing that I've changed from the stillen package is the boost tubes and BOV. stillen used a 2 1/2" plastic boolst tube and a recurc. valve. I changed that to a 3" alum. tube and a BOV instead.

ok I have the word from upon high....bad ECU(engine control unit).....and TCU(tranny control unit). it's >$2000 just for parts. plus labor plus what they spent cleaning and replacing the carpet, seat, etc. they told me it will total it............
I'm going to buy it back and fix or part it out.

I'm still confused on the whole "buy it back " thing.

Do you have to surrender the title to the car to get an insurance payoff?

If not, I aint "buying back" a damn thing, its still my car.

I had one car totaled when I lived in Cali and the insurers just handed me a check, game over.

The car sat in my driveway for a bit and then I sold it for parts.

yeah that's kind of the way it works...I guess?? but I have to give them the title and then agree to "buy it back" they then give me a smaller check plus the car and title back. If I don't "buy it back" then they just give me the full amount and take the car which is not going to happen with all of extras on the car that they are not giving me credit for.

I think it's all just a paper suffle really. Plus if I "buy it back" then it doen't have savaged title

Wow thats a nice Max you got there!
I've got a 95 SE 5-speed with a full I/H/E from Cattman and still get O2 sensor codes. My ECU (OBD 1) seems to be quite picky about readings from the Oxygen sensors, and it goes into 'omg somethings wrong, dump fuel!' reduced power gimp mode.

Wish I could boost mine. Rear mount turbo perhaps.

    cheers,

    peet
