    okay... first post :)
i'm sorry if i'm posting in the wrong section
    but anyway...
i'm planning on buying an old VFR400R
now i'm not sure if thats even the name of the bike... because the owner is not much of a bike person... and he's left all the panels at home for some wierd reason..
part of the front flairing is still on, and it says Cam Gear Drive i think
and its got a V4 engine
i think its an NC21.. had to look at a lot of images on google to figure out what bike it is :p
he says its a 91 model.. but i'm not sure.. since the net says the NC21's were last produced in 89 or something
the bike has been in the same place for maybe a year
and its got roughly 25000 kilometers on it
the paint on the tank is slightly rusted and is chipping in other places
he said something about the tank being a replacement.. i'll ask him later
there are visible scratches on the bike too.. looks like its fallen a lot
no major damage is visible though..
owner says its in running condition.. but needs a new battery and fluids etc.
i've got a few pictures of the bike... clicked them at night so theyr not too clear.. i'll add more tomorrow morning :)

it would be great help if you guys could help me decide if i should buy this bike or not..
and rough estimate of howmuch i should be paying for it.. the bike has already had 2 owners that i know of..
if anyone can figure out what year and model this bike is, it'll be pretty helpful :p
    cheers! :D

he's got the missing panels at home... i dont know what the condition of those parts are like though
he's asking for 1.5 lakh indian rupees
which is 3000 US dollars or 1800 pounds
i cant afford it if the bike really is worth that much though..
could you guys help me out with a price that would be right for this bike?
    thanks in advance :D

don't buy it unless you can hear it run properly......and can find the numerous parts that are missing and have good mehanical skills.

that bike is not a good choice

no use for a nice fast bike on crazy roads over there.

    thanks squirrelman :D
the parts are all with the owner... so no issues there
the thing is, he's replaced a few key things on the bike with make shift parts.. he says he couldn't find original spares anywhere

the fuel filter is from an 800cc car
and the CDI kit is from a 500CC royal enfield bullet.. would that impact the power output on the bike in any way? :S
apparently the wiring got eaten by some rats recently... so he's just taped/fixed the loose ends back with electrical tape
the money he's asking for it is a LOT you consider all this
right?? ohh and riding in this country is a different kind of fun :D
