    Hello,

    I have a 2002 vfr800vtec with 11k on the road.
There is a question i have of somethin i worry a little about.
When my vfr is on the center stand and i lift up my rear wheel, i can feel a little freeplay. I seems to come from the linkage system where the shock absorber is mounted.
Freeplay is about 3 /4 mm. Is this normal or schould the bearings be replaced and the bolts as well???

    Thanks in advance,

    Greeeeeeeeetzzzzzzzz,

    Harrrumpie

3/4th's of 1 millimeter?? that is a little, if i read this right no worries swing arm hanging down shock mount linkage etc all together are off pressure if its only 3/4 mm but if its 3-4 mm then you may have a worn linkage bushing or shock bushing now i am not sure if the elf system has play in it or not. I'll check my manual later PM me...........

hmmm missed the mm thought he wrote 3/4" that is not good
if rear preload is set at lightest setting it would move 3/4 of a mm

    good catch Deep

    Hi guys,

    Thanks for the quick reply's,
What i mean is a freeplay of 3 or 3 mm , and i have seen there is al little movement on one of the bolts wich is goin trough the linkage system.
So i think that that bearing is worn out and couses the freeplay.
( lucky me) still have the bike in guarantee with the dealer..... so hopefully he doesnt think its normal wear ( wich is not part of the guarantee)
But we will see... going to bring him the happy message tomorrow.
I think its will not be a very expensive repair but all bolts and bearings sould be replaced in the linkage system ( 3 ) so any other ( hidden ) damaged bearings can be excluded.
