What kinda blows me away is this is in a huge parking lot not some super narrow road. How'd he manage that?

I'm amazed at a couple of things...how in the hell did the bike end up sitting straight up (what are the chances) and, if it did, in fact, topple over - how did the freeking helmet stay on the mirror/handlebar?!

 

IMO the whole photo session was staged for a promo of the new HD watercraft line.

 

Reading through the posts on that Katana forum was interesting to say the least. The rider himself wound up making the whole situation worse by kind of panicing when it was part way down.

Poor bastard, no way on God's green earth ten guys could have saved that Hog from a watery death, its just waaaaaaaay too heavy.

Later updates on that forum indicated it was totaled .........well duh.....it was totaled the minute the front tire left the asphalt.

further in the forum it says that after they got it upright the rider took off his lid & placed it on the mirror.

bike was totaled - the wrecker guys appearently dragged it up on it's side, and between that and being underwater it was done for. Per forum.

 

On a motorcycle forum that is well known for not expanding on rumors like paint jobs for $9.95, combination wheelies and stoppies by guys faster than Rossi and who won't buy the new "Interceptor" because it doesn't come equipped with a portapotty, I want y'all to know that I have, with my own eyes, seen HD wetsuits for sale in my local Harleye Botique.

I think post #13 says it all! How the hell could you not turn that bike around in that HUGE space! You could do donuts in a Winnebago in that spot!

Seriously though... I read the story, and I'd have jumped in to help the guy too... poor bastage already plunked his ride in the drink, last thing he needs is for some :asshat: to stand there and laugh at him.

If the Harleydood was into naming his bike, he could call it Captain Nemo.

 

do we know if it was running? It would be interesting to know if it continued to make a farting noise for just a few seconds before ingesting H2O

 

This is truely one of those things where if I didn't see the pics, I sure as hell wouldn't believe it.

One thing is for sure, this does NOT do the typical HD stereo type any good.

pretty much... I hate to agree with the HD stereotype, but I've never once seen pix of a crotch rocket in a river...

Maybe we just like flyin' better than swimmin'?
