I have a 2002 VFR. Last set of tires were Michelin Pilot Power. While the performance was gerat, they did not last very long.

Any recommendations for a good set of tires that have good sprot riding performance on the street/twisties and hopefully give 4K miles? The focus is more on the sprot riding than touring.

    Thanks.

I have the new Dunlop Qualifier on the rear and put a new Qual on the front this evening. I have had the rear on for about 3K miles and it has help up well so far. It is supposed to have a compound that combines the grip of a sport tire with the longevity of a touring tire.

Somebody else on our group ride had those too and he was happy as well-- the new compound sounds good on the paper. I will check them out. Thanks.

I have the Conti Road Attacks and love them. Smooth and quiet on the highway and stick like glue in the twisties. There are also Conti Sport Attacks which are even stickier but have less of a center patch for longer wear.

I'm fitting a set of Avon Sport 59/60's on in about 2 days. I picked them because of their sporting nature, yet Avon's known to last a while. Also, I don't know if they are made for our bike, but the Pirelli Scorpion Sync tires that were on my Buell XB9SX were very durable, and stuck like heck. The are a bit noisy though, because of the "aggressive" tread pattern, something naked "streetfighter" bikes try to have. If my Avon's don't last though, I'm going to seek out the Scorpions. If your riding is more suited towards touring, and less sporting, you can also do the Avon 45/46 combo, known to be VERY durable and still semi-sticky.

    Metzler

I have a pair of Metzlers, on my 02 VFR Currently they have about 6K on them and have 1 season of tread left before I need to replace them.

thanks for all the feedback. Hopefully, the next set of tires will be longer lasting .......assuming I can avoid a puctre/flat tire.
    Cheers.
