I don't know where Shizuoka-shi is at but I live in Ayase-shi, Kanagawa-ken (east of Tokyo and Yokohoma). If we are close maybe we can arrange a ride. Nice bike by the way.

Very nice! I too am in love with the 3rd Gen VFR!! As a matter of fact I just bought a second 1993 VFR with only 9000 miles on it to replace my other recently crashed 93 with 41,000 miles on it. What made you decide to go to Japan?? Are you able to ride that thing as good as the Japanese Motorbike Police??

    Regards,
    Rollin

Nice bike. I'll be moving to Atsugi in January, hopefully that will be close enough to you to meet up for some rides.

Hi all, yes in Japan anything over 400cc is a 'big bike' and requires the big bike licence.

I live close to Mt. Fuji and the reason I live here is because it is my wife's hometown. Turns out it is a region of much motorbike industry, in particular the home of Yazaki and Sumitomo electrical connectors. I didn't even know that when I decided to start my own business here.

It's hard to describe the riding here but I figure there are the most amazing roads in the world here and plenty of them. Since most of the country is mountainous the roads have to be very curvy and they are!

What is there about a Honda that makes it so special anyway? They all seems so easy to ride, so well balanced etc. My previous ST1100 was like that, now this VFR is too.

In order to mount up my GPS I decided to use Scotch double sided adhesive on a Ram diamond mount onto the top fork brace, and installed a Powerlet Socket on the left plastic inner fairing piece, check it out:

I'll use a tether just in case the adhesive lets go but this is the stuff you get with the GoPro Hero cameras to attach the camera to your helmet etc so it should hold up well. I couldn't think of any other way except a steering stem mount and I just didn't want to do that. Also I don't like the Steering Stem Socket idea after testing one with a customer.

I'd love to hear from any newer generation VFR owners who have done unique Socket installs.

Ohaiyo. What they have on their floors is a lot of race replica type bikes, in all sizes. Lots of cute scooters for the women too. Cruisers are very popular over here. The 400cc market is huge because the licence is much easier for younger guys to get.

Middle aged and older riders here are really into import bikes, and always the special and most expensive models. It's very common to see brand new Ducatis, Aprilas, Guzzis, Beemers, Harleys, etc.

Grats on the bike. That's a beauty.

Now where can I get those decals? Those look so much better than the purple crap on the US '92 in black.
