    1) it didn't work reliably
    2) being right behind the oil cooler, looked like it impeded air flow some.

Wow, what a big, klunky, heavy thing.

Can I just get another generic horn from an auto parts store? I wonder if there is some nice light-weight plastic horn available somewhere. I'd like to mount it in another position, maybe under the black plastic piece between the fairing top edge and the tank (don't know the name of that piece).

On another subject, can anyone tell me why the kickstand has that silly rubber foot? I just replaced my worn out one with a new one, thinking it might make the bike stand higher or something. Nope! Probably should have left it as is...

The little rubber foot ensures the side stand pushes forward after it's lowered. At least the one on my Hawk does.

    KC-10 FE out...

yeah, gotta have somethin to wake up all the nodders on them night rides (trust me, I've almost been squashed my those idiots)

The rubber foot also helps keep ur kickstand from sinkin' into hot pavement, dirt, etc...

Most of the time when I've had close calls, I have concentrated on things like braking hard or swerving. The only use of the horn (for me) has been to display my irritation afterward. I've been riding since 1969...

Not that I don't want a horn; I do. I just want one that works reliably, and that doesn't weight 3 pounds (or whatever it is).

A lightweight yet louder horn would be pretty neat.

Some say the rubber foot is to kick the stand up when you ride off with it down. I think it is to keep the stand from sliding while parked on an incline aka your driveway.
