About 6 pm tonight I saw a 5th generation red VFR. The rider (and passenger) were heading south from Cross Plains on Hwy P.

    That's three firsts:

First sighting of a 5th generation.
First sighting while I was riding my 6th generation.
First time I got a wave from another VFR rider.

    Okay, okay, okay. I'm a roadhog . . .

I participated in the Ride for Kids (Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation) this morning. This was my first group ride . . . 90 minutes tooling around the edge of the driftless area of Wisconsin.

I got to meet up with fellow VFR Worlder pjvtec (he was the one who'd told me about the Ride). His was the only other VFR in the assembly. Anyhoo: Nice guy - I learned much - and got much to think about.

Gotta say that reds are hypnotizing - I'd seen a red 4th Gen up close earlier this summer and this had the same effect on me.

There were many highpoints in this ride, but there was this one of note:

As we headed back to the Middleton HS parking lot, in oncoming traffic, I saw a 6th Gen white VFR with factory hardbags. Received, and reciprocated, a wave.

So, two in one day.

I took a trip across northern Ontario (Muskoka, Algonquin, Calabogi, Renfrew) and Quebec (Mont Laurier). I came across multiple VFR sightings while riding 2up with my woman, and with another rider/wife on a Blue/White Suzuki C109T.
In Renfrew, I was parked beside a 2004 flat black Viffer with matching Honda hard bags, Aug 1,2 @ Best Western. Sorry I didn't have time to chat, but I was trying to beat the weather for our trip up to Quebec province.
While parked at a burger place in Gooderham, I waved to a black Gen6 viffer before he headed south on hwy 507. I was unaware of this highway, but while I was having some lunch, I watch more then a couple dozen motorcycle coming/going from this road. So it will be on my hit list for another time.
Last, While traveling south on hwy 309 & 307 in Quebec, I came across a group of 4 or 5 bikes. 3 of them being Gen6 bikes, mostly red.

    OK, who are you?
I've heard but barely seen this bike a few times so far and wanted a closer look due to the sound of your exhaust.

    Worcester, MA Red 5th Gen
Seems to use Lovell st often as the exhaust echos very well in this area.
Found your bike parked at Tatnuck Square Pizza

Slightly road rashed on right side and no pipe.
Guess that would explain the bitchen exhaust sound!

So what does the Worcester PD think?

Man, aside from the couple of viffers in my small town, I hardly ever see any others.

    >>>Has ANYBODY ever responded to a sighting report on this thread? I think possibly once or twice but I am amazed how little it happens. Wouldn't you want to say "YES, that was ME!!"

I used to live in Quail Valley, in the foothills overlooking LE; so, I could have seen you, but that was 14 years ago...
