I've been looking at the map and where were you thinking of meeting up? I was looking at the ride from my house to Major and although complicated it looks like it could be fun. Are you familiar with 60/Richmond hwy NE of Lynchburg? It looks a little boring so I was looking at a route through Piedmont.

I've never been on that route before. Maybe I'll just meet you in C-ville and we can ride somewhere from there.

You'd have to pick the place in C-ville. I don't know much about it.

Thanks but that would defeat the purpose of hooking up with someone for a ride who could show me around.

Im still getting used to my VFR, but I've been riding for 12+ years now."

    I hear ya.
However, there is nothing wrong with a little education.

When one is trying to figure out how to have fun in a new area without getting in trouble it is a fine time to seek an expert.

I am just north of you in Middleburg, heading to the track this weekend, but can ride next and show you the ropes and secret roads as well as my tank bag of electronics.

Dang it! Sounds great except I'm riding up to NE Pennsylvania to see my folks next weekend... come to think of it I havent decided on a route yet. Interested? I am meeting up with a friend from Philly, were going to spend a night camping/drinking in Gettysburg. Otherwise the next 2 weekends are free, at least for now, I'm pretty sure there will be a trip to the national forest in one of them.

How 'bout 55mph with a 20mph blanket for 15 miles? It's basically Deal's Gap with elevation changes...and some gravel to keep it interesting. Minimal traffic as well. Rt 56 from 29 to Vesuvius. Its about 20 minutes south of C'ville. Don't tell anyone about it either. It's that good.

    Hey guys,
just bought an 07. Been riding for a few years, but now will be much more enjoyable with a VFR.
My girl and I like to go out most weekends for a couple hours. Gradually getting into longer rides out west in the mountains and hilly country.
How often do you all get out for group rides?

Just came down skyline on the way home from my parents in PA. How fast can you ride without getting a ticket? 35 seems a little ridiculous. I didnt see any police for that matter either. What gives?

I ride near skyline all the time and there are always police, especially on 211. That doesn't stop everyone from going 70 through there though. It porbably depends on day and time, they know everyone goes there on the weekends from 9am-to some time in the afternoon.

I went up 211 and Skyline on Sunday afternoon on my own; really nice. Didn't see any clops though. And GO_OUTSIDE! is right, the 35 limit through there is redic. 70 would be kinda dangerous with all the rubberneckers and caravans. 45 was nice and cathartic for me.
I'll be heading south to Richmond this weekend to get my girl into the MSF course for a full license.
