I think she is running rich

Hey guys,
When I first start her up there is a very strong raw fuel smell untill nice and warm, I usually dont close the choke all the way untill I get about a mile or so
down the rode so that the rpm's stay up at a stop light. Its fine after that but I think the fuel mileage could be better. Anyone have a this problem?

 

the choke makes it run rich warm with choke 3-4 minutes then it should idle fine..is your airfilter clean??

 

I do warm with the choke about half way then when she is up to temp I close it. but air filter needs to be changed. My friends bike doen't smell like raw unburned fuel though he has a y2k and it doesn't have a choke.
