Ideas for protecting the faring from road debris thrown by the front tire? I have read about the 3M paint protection film but will it stand up to highway missiles?

I am considering the thicker protective paint shields used for cars. Such as:

Protective Shield - Everyday and Storage - Car Maintenance - Griot's Garage

I've used painting tape (track trick) but it does wear and leaves a messy residue.

    Thanks,

    Reg
