    Hey everyone,

I guess the main question is the price. I'm in eastern PA (if location matters) and I'm considering an '07 leftover, non-ABS. Coming straight from the warehouse, still has to be assembled, the guy's offering it for $9000 + tax and tags. No freight or setup, just $9000 plus what the state gets, OTD. What do you think of this price? I haven't done much shopping around, looked around on craigslist and cycletrader and it seems pretty good. Saw an '06 with ~10,000 miles for $6600 and a used '07, ~3500 miles for $8500. So brand new, 0 miles for $9000 seems like a pretty decent deal, but with no other bikes to compare it to, kinda in a class of its own, I'm not sure.

I guess the other questions are the usual - what's it like to live with, routine repair/maintenance frequency/cost, any unexpected repairs, things that broke, anything like that. I heard heat from the side-mount radiators was an issue for some, wondering about that. I'll be using it mainly for longer distance stuff, 300 - 400 mile day rides, some week-long vacation rides in the 2000 mile range. I have a Yamaha FZ6 for the daily around town/commute stuff so I probably wouldn't be using the VFR for that much if at all.

Any help would be much appreciated, I go back to the dealer tomorrow (Wed.) to work a deal for a new bike for my g/f and it would be nice to know where I stand with the VFR.

    Thanks in advance.

Doesn't sound too shabby to me. It all depends on the area that you are looking as well. I think some guy just bought one somewhere for just under 9k with tags. Personally, I think that 9k is a good deal.

16k valve adjustments. Heat from side rads is not too bothersome, not for me or any of my friends. They do like to run a little hot though. Running some engine ice might bring her down a bit in temp. Viffers love to run boss, so I hope you won't be disappointed when she doesn't break down on you! Only think I HIGHLY recommend if you are gonna be doing long days in the saddle as you mentioned....get an aftermarket Sargent saddle I have one on my 5th gen, got it this spring, and it was the single best thing I did to the bike for comfort. Other than that, heated grips can be nice. If you like to bring gear with you, ask them for a deal on some matching hardbags.

Oh, hello and welcome to the forum by the way!

Hey man..my take on the side mount rads..they are the best thing in water cooled bikes out there..I find mine is a very cool bike in the heat compared to any I-4 I ever owned or rode...much better blowing it away from you than up your crotch..just my take..:)
I reccomend you do nothing to the bike but ride it , and ride it a long way over a few days , then see what works for you..It will take a while to break you in on it...

+1 on the Sargent seat suggestion.

I have one and think it's great, but ride yours for a couple of hours at a stretch first. You might find that you can live with the stock one.
