I installed the black kit on my Y2K on could not be more impressed w/ a product. The kit was absolutely incredible. The instructions were so complete it was a pleasure to install... So much better than any generic kit.

Has anyone else had anything to do w/ them? The support and communication was great.

Great auxillary connection for emergeny Cell phone connection (w/ the Cig. Lighter adapter). The Battery Tender kit is nice, too.

I was thinking about the Tankbag connector kit. What do you guys think?

    It looks kinda cool.
I just got a powerlet kit, but haven't installed it.
I bought it pretty quickly, and just realized that I need an adapter for my radar detector, because it's cigar lighter sized, while my kit isn't.
I wish they would've told me that.
It wouldve saved me a 2nd shipping charge. :'(

:) I installed a Powerlet in the steering head on my y2k VFR and equipped an Oxford tank bag with a plug kit from Powerlet. In side my tank bag I have a duel cigar lighter adapter (also from Powerlet Co.) that I use to keep my cell phone charged and power a walkman CD. I also installed a Powerlet under the seat on the left side to power an electric vest.
The bike specific kits are well documented and easy to install. I am surprised that more bike manufacturers don't offer them as standard equipment, atleast on sport tourers. Big thumbs up on this product.

I just installed the Left Fairing kit on my '02 and also purchased the "cigar cable" that will stretch to my tank bag. The install was super easy!!!! All the wires were just the right length (not too short or too long), the instructions were clearly written. It took me about 1 hour because I was savoring the job now that the rain is here.

Highly recommended product and company to deal with.

I just bought a gps for my bike, got a mount and am good to go. The battery only lasts 3 hours so I want to add a power outlet. I keep hearing about how great the powerlet products are, but the only thing that confuses me is that they always say something about th power outlet is the bmw style. What does that mean and is it compatible with the standard cigarette lighter adapter that most 12v dc products use?

Any thoughts on the steering column mount vs the front mount under the windshield into the fairing?

    Thanks in advance

I have used Powerlet Products on several bikes now, they are always top notch. Super customer oriented as well.

As far as the plug, not it isn't the same as a cigarette lighter. It is slightly smaller and has a firmer more positive fit. There is quite a bit of information on the Powlet website about it, and why they use it vs. the cigarette one.
