I owned a 2003 vfr for a year and a half and put about 7,000 miles on it.

I just bought a leftover 2007 and am still breaking it in.

I have read that Honda did a couple of changes to the mapping, injectors and v-teck kick-in.

I have to say that the redesigned 2006 is considerably faster that the earlier 6th generation VFR's.

    Any opinions?

i dont think that it is any faster, with the peak power output remaining the same, but it is probably a little easier to drive faster with the power coming on sooner and smoother.

I recently read an article that said:

The secondary valves kick in earlier (6,400 instead of 6,800) and the PGM-FI fuel injection system’s ECU and injectors (taken directly from the CBR1000RR Fireblade) were also modified to achieve improvements in drivability while further enhancing the VFR’s sporty feel. One other result of this fine tuning of the fuel injection system is that fuel consumption also sees a small but significant improvement.

And I still think that these improvements made this bike faster!!

Just checked... there are two different part numbers for the injectors. 02-05 and 06-__.

    Interesting.

You can give me another 100hp but some guys I know (you know who you are) would kick my rear anyway.
