    10 Reasons You Won't Like The FZ1

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    10) The mileage is not so good. Actually the mileage is abyssmal: As advertised on Yamaha's website, I'm getting 35 MPG. I hate honesty. Why couldn't they tell me I was going to get 15 MPG. Then 35 would seem awesome!

    9) I'm constantly cleaning the plastic from all the drool of teenage boys.

    8) I'm tired of grown men flirting with my bike saying stuff like "That's the bike I really wanted" to it.

    7) It's got way too many gears. I get to highway speed and I've still got 5 gears left.

    6) Instead of saying "Yamaha" somewhere on the bike it's got pictures of tuning forks all over it. I caught some lady trying to play Beethoven on it.

    5) The ergonomics are all wrong. Instead of leaning me over so I have to get off it in half an hour because of back pain I'm so comfortable I never come straight home. Well maybe that's not such a big one. Forget I mentioned that.

    4) It's way too fast. I left for work this morning and got there yesterday.

    3) It turns way too easy. I went to make a sharp left turn the other day and spun in place for 5 minutes.

    2) Every other vehicle I own looks like sh%t now.

    1) Since I bought it the producers of "Batman" have been after me to play the Joker in the sequel...because of the stupid grin that's stuck on my face.

I stole this from a yam forum, but loved it and had to share. Now I was a ALL HONDA, ALL THE TIME guy before I tested this bike. And with Honda straight up failing to bring the "good bikes" (CB1000R, Super Bel Dor, ect) into the US, I gave it a shot, and love it. and best of all, NO V_TEC!

I've got a riding buddy who loves his '02 FZ1 too goes like stink in a straight line an comfortable but a bit floppy handling through the twisties, still think my VFR is the better bike overall though.

I don't get it. It's just not that sexy. Even though it's not going to break any land speed records, the viffer looks like it's screaming through space and time.... just parked there.

i did get a chance to drive a fz1 the other day. i think it was an 06. great bike:thumbsup:. it felt a little softer than mine on the bottom end but it was scary fast after 8 grand. great seating position too, although with the upright bars it felt as though i was going to be ripped off the bike when the power came on. i also really liked how cool the bike ran. i beat on it for about 10 minutes and i dont really remember it getting over 170*. and the inverted fork... so sexy:biggrin:

there's a brand new 05 at a local shop that I considered buying but its still carbed so that is a no go for me. My brother has an FZ6 and I dont really like it that much, its a good bike but its not for me. I'd much rather have a z1000 than an FZ1

is there a thumbs down button.

seriously though, I am working on a 2005 Raven edition YZF1. I always liked the body style, and the color scheme, with the red pin striping. Yet, I still ride my Honda VFR (gen 2) every day.... ok well nearly every day.

Yam makes good bikes. Hell they sell enough of them to at least make that claim. If I have to ride more than 40 mins on a bike do I choose the Yam or the Honda.... I choose the Honda hands down.

My good friend has an 07 I've ridden and it's a really nice bike. The power that thing dishes out when you get the RPMs around 7K and above is flat out scary.
