A fork brace will reduce the flex between the 2 forks and make them work as 1 but will have no affect on dive under braking. They are worth the money if you ride hard enough.

    for what its worth

I used to get pretty scarey tank slappers, after a high speed wheely on my 94 CBR 900, sometimes. Those forks were far superior to anything on any VFR I've ridden. But the geometry made it sketchy. At the time, I didn't have the cash for a steering dampner. But I had an old GoldWing that I was parting out, and it had a Teleflex fork brace on it. I took it off, and it just happened to fit my CBR forks. So I put it on and she never slapped me again! So, even though the geometry on the VFR's is less aggressive, the forks flex a lot. So, I can't wait to find one (at the right price) for my 87 VFR700 F2! It needs it as much as anything I've ever ridden, and I already know how much a bike can benefit from fitting them. Also, i found a couple factory installed steering dampners on scrapped out old Kaw triples that work better than nothing (for next to nothing). I used a scrapped clip on, to make the fork bracket. The frame attachment was an easy fab.

I wonder if the later generations have the same dimension forks (in the appropriate area), such that a brace made for us would work on their bikes too. If so, we can get more people signed up to make this happen. Anyone know?

    I found one locally..

But SuperTex still has one up for sale and at half the cost of a new one from Europe. Gonna put mine on this weekend. Funny thing, I ride around with a group of 4 to 6 other 2nd Gen owners and I was the only one without the Telefix brace.... They came up with one for me... now all of us are braced...

Watch out on Ebay for these big, clunky fork braces originally made by Superbrace. They look like big aluminum plates and seem to go for around $75. I used a milling machine to sculpt one into a nice looking modern shape.
