....has anyone in here used a gel-seat product?...recently took a pretty long ride and found that my "butt" was continuously going numb after about 90 minutes,,,,i found that i needed to get off and walk around for a while,it seemed ok for a while then got uncomfortable after a time again....maybe its me..im not a young feller(56)...and i got used to the perks of a "wing"...any suggestions would be appreciated...thanks!!!:yo:

If I was you, I would put that custom gel seat on E-Bay and buy a Sargent. My buddy had a custom gel seat on his Harley and we would switch sometimes, Never been a fan of gel seats and last weekend took a 400 mile ride on my new Sargent and my butt wasn't even sore. Just my .02

But nothing will ever be as comfortable as that wing, Usually people go from a sport-touring bike to the wing, you did just the opposite, just out of curiosity, what made you do the switch? I bet your having a little more fun on the coast or mountain runs now than you did on the wing...

....i havent purchased a gel product "yet",so i was wondering "if" they were worth looking in to.....i currently have the stock seat on the vfr.....and yes..i pretty much did the opposite of what most people do....go from a wing to a sport bike....in a perfect world i would own one of each, but the budget only allows for one bike at the moment..i have a long driveway (gravel) that goes at a fairly steep incline, and i got tired of scaring myself with the wing after the drive way washed out on numerous occasions...the vfr is at least 300 lbs less than the wing....im also enjoying life in the fast lane also....nice to have a bike that handles like it does.....the wing was awesome for interstate travel, and also great for a rainy day ride,,,,but aside from the lesser issues of comfort, i AM digging the vfr...a lot!!

I have just the stock seat on my 04 vfr and my left leg near the jewels area will hurt after about 1 hr. I have been interested in the sargent from the feedback i've seen here on vfr world. But someone I know here in town has a 99 900rr and this past spring had his seat done custom with the same cover and they added more foam and a gel insert. He said he can go alot longer now. I havent ridden on his bike but I have ridden on another friends bike which is also a 900rr with a stock seat and didnt think it was any less comfortable than my vfr. whew sorry for getting so long winded:eek:
