    Hello All,

I have a problem with my 2000VFR. Hope it rings a bell with someone.
Started last year, after winter storage, I started it up and it ran great for a few days and then one morning it lost power. Still ridable and easy to start, just does not have the snap it should. It cut in and out a few times and then stayed subdued. I ended up changing the plugs twice and it ran the rest of the season.
    Same thing happened this spring.
In the midst of this I found my head gasket leaking into the oil and had it fixed.
I thought the anti-freeze was fouling the plugs, but this apparently is not the case.
To describe it better, the power loss does not make it un-ridable, but it is quite noticable to me being used to the normal VFR snap. It is like someone flips a switch on and off when it happens between two different power maps on the FI. (no it is running the stock FI system)

My gut feeling says electrical, but I am not sure what to look at or how to approach it. Any ideas or experiences?:confused:

    Thanks for your help.

Have you pulled any codes yet? This may give you a starting point.

    leaking injector

A friend of mine had a problem like this and it was injectors leaking and fouling the plugs. His bike still ran but unless riddden very hard it would load up and run weak on a couple cylinders. The bike was a gen6 and had the problem after sitting for a season, and a injectors were replaced and problem solved.

I have someone looking at it now for any codes. I should know by tomorrow.

I have not looked into the injectors very much yet, it crossed my mind, but I'm trying to determine first if its electrical, or fuel related first.

    I appreciate all the ideas.

    JDK,
Have you found out yet what the problem is?
