transition... 599 to vfr

    hi all just joined. in the process of selling my 04 599 to make room for an 03 vfr. looking foreward to using this site and all the imformation and insight its members have to offer.

    Cool to see ya here.. the 599 is a nice bike, differance is going to be just the layout in short ya know, how it will fit the you, both do just about the same job going down the road as far as handling goes. you'll have a tad more power specailly in the mid range but nothing over the top and with the faring comes more wind protection. But ride wise bet they're just about the same. Oh you might notice the braking to be a bit different too, as the VFR has what they call linked brakes in where a little of both actions work both front and rear at the same time. of course this is just my 2 cents.

    If I could have another bike it would be a 599. Those are just great around town thrashers. Super easy to handle in parking lots, twisties, etc. I miss my 650 Nighthawk.

    You'll love the VFR though, good choice :)

    I'm thnking of replacing my `92 NightHawk 750 with a 599.

    I love my 599 only beef is its a little low. I just want a little more wind protection and i desire a little less sport and a bit more tour. also the ability to add luggage is a big plus.

    welcome to the group. I am interested in your comparo between the 599 and the VFR also. I read consistently good reviews about the 599.
