I consider it a waste of my time to try to justify anything I posted. You either get it or you don't.

Not a Harley lover, but I might make an exception for an XR1200.

I'm not from the US but copied this from the Harley link.

"It's all about freedom. This country was born under the mantle of oppression, forged on the battlefield, and purchased with the blood of our patriots. It has been the solemn duty of every generation since to send its young warriors forth to protect these freedoms. It was my honor to serve this great country during the Vietnam conflict, and I was lucky enough to make it home in one piece.

Riding my Harley is the ultimate expression of the freedoms I hold dear, and I wish everyone in America could know the feeling I get on the open road - the wind in my hair and the feeling of power harnessed in my steel horse.

Thank you to all our veterans and those that support them for continuing to protect these freedoms and this great nation."

I'd say he can ride whatever the heck he wants.

Actually he probably isent riding anything anymore. thats what happens when you do not wear a helmet "the wind in my hair".

wifes friend wiped out hard enough to crack her skull THROUGH the helmet. not even a burse otherwise. about 4k short of 100k miles.

Sorry to hear about your wifes friend.

This guy does wear a helmet though, or at lease has two.

How do you know when your Harley is low on oil? When it stops leaking.

If Harley made airplanes, would you fly in one?

Really, I have no hate for Harleys.... Whatver floats your boat. I dig everthing on two wheels.

And I have to agree with Norcal - flat track racing kicks ass!

Here is the easiest way I have found to upgrade a H-D with one simple bolt-on upgrade:
    1: Un-screw gas cap,
2: Place Honda under gas cap,
    3: Replace gas cap!

There ya go!.....3 easy steps, and waaay cheaper than any crap you'll find at that black & orange store!!!!

Now, why all this negativity for Harleys? After all, they are motorcycles too. So what if their parking spaces look like a CSI crime scene, they can wake the dead at idle and vibrate so much they're the real cause of the "great disturbance in the force" Oni Wan Kenobi felt?

i wouldnt typically involve myself in this type of argument crap but..i was on the us hwy 52, minding my own buiseness when a rubby (rich urban biker) entered my lane traveling way less than my speed and everyone else as well. he never looked over his shoulder or checked his mirrors just cut me off. Forcing me naturally to down shift 2 gears and pass him in the lane he came from...well i must have scared the shit out of him because when i passed him he almost lost control of his "hog" well then he tried to keep up in the corners laying on his horn. He managed to catch me at a stop light and began swearing at me and called me a @ss #ole.....It was just so funny because i could tell he was a pencil pusher real estate agent under his harley hat and harley chaps and harley jacket i think he even had a harley wrist watch on...my guess is, his other vehicle is a minivan....I got nothing against a man that rides a harley or any other bike for all that matter. It just bugs the piss out of me when these guys think they can buy a $20k bike 5k in leather crap and think the road is there own. I just say have respect for all riders on the road even if they are a punk ass long haired 25 year old on 25 year old bright orange interceptor..

Actually,,, Harley does make a good bike. It's called a V-Rod..... Of course most of the "un" Harley peps don't like it..... If they'd put the foot pegs where they belong, it would be even better.
Being a Bay-of-Pigs, and Viet-Nam vet, I too have earned the right to ride what I pay for, and it has never been a Harley, since 1965.........

    I took a demo ride on a V-Rod and yeah....nice engine.
The rest of the bike pretty much sucked!
Un-comfortable, tippy, and NO cornering clearance....dragged the floor boards around a lazy paced clover-leaf...OOoops!!!!

The engine actually pulled pretty nice until the rev-limiter pooped on the party...super abrupt, cut in right in the meat of the power.

I dont have a problem with any type of bike. I just thought the joke was funny.

actually... the original joke was a cartoonish picture of a large truck with big mud tires and it said low riders are for guys who can't get it up.

After 2+ decades of Kawasaki Sports bikes a friend just went from a ZZR1100 to a shiny new HD Fatbob, being polite I completented it on its built in battery tender connection.
