Hey guys, I am new to this web site and to owning a 2008 Interceptor. I am looking for the best exhaust and if anyone has pictures of putting a shorty pipe on. If anyone has pictures of a shorty pipe please post them and let me know what exhaust you used or is you would not recommend it and go with am aftermarket exhuast like Leo Vince or Two Bothers.

    Thanks

I'm not too fond of Two Bros. However, the shortest pipes you can get for the 6th Gen are in fact the Two Bros VALE. Even as much as I don't like TBR, a quick survey would probably reveal that most others are perfectly happy with their TBR products. I must also admit the TBR VALE's are one of, if not the best looking pipe for a 6th Gen VFR.

Since I don't like TBR & if I were to purchase pipes for a 6th Gen & I was basing the purchase soley on looks, I would purchase a set of Remus.

    KC-10 FE out...

I like my carbon Leo Vince's. I think the sound sweet and compliment my black '06 perfect. Very happy with the purchase.

I've heard many exhausts on the VFR and in my opinion the Staintunes are the best sounding of them all.

    Regards,

    i'm gonna have to agree.
a little over a year ago when i was living/working in Australia, i heard a 6th gen with staintune's on it and was immediately sold.
i bought the exhaust there (a little cheaper) and checked it in as airline luggage upon my return to the states.
basically i bought the exhaust before i owned the bike.
that's how good the sound is.

Thanks for all the info. I will look up the exhaust you guys recommened. I am looking for looks and performance. My bad I did not put that. Has anyone seen a side shorty exhaust like the new CBR's have on the 6th Gen?

    NomadBeach,
I haven't seen any of the manufactures come out with a shorty exhaust on the side, similar to the CBR. I know some of the guys have made their own but can’t recall anyone specific. Like KC said the shortest under tail pipes are the 2 Bro’s VALE’s, check my gallery for pictures.

I went with Staintune as well. I received them Friday and installing a PC with custom tune later this week. I look forward to some increased sound from the v4.

I already desnorkled and disconnected the airbox valve, and installed a K&N. I assume everyone is doing the 02 mod before tuning? Several conversations with Dynojet says that o2 sensor removals are not required (my 2007) with the PC except for Cali purchased bikes....went round and round with them and web searches but keep getting conflicting information. I have the resistors but am wondering if I really need to do it or not.

You do need the eliminators. If you do not install them when the bike is in a condition where the O2 sensors come into play you'll get an FI error light.

    ok my turn...
i really really like my leo vince pipes!
i looked at and listened to them all and for me it was a hands down to the LV. they sounded great and they cleaned up the back end quite nicely. going through the parkade at work in 1st gear around 2500 rpm....man cant beat that rumble! havent heard anything like it and it is awesome! cruising through town at low rpms is pretty awesome too...has a real nice rumble to it.
ultimately, guess it comes down to your own personal preference (but if you want to be really cool get the LV!!)
