Honda VF 750 1983

    I just got a Honda VF 750 1983 with very low km's on it and went to service it and found a hose coming off front side of carb's and it comes off tee piece that goes between carb's under aluminium plate over carb's and is some sort of vacuum hose it has 3/8" id and can not find where it goes as it was not hooked up when i got it can someone tell me where it goes or what is it as bike has not been run for 8 years or so and is in very new condition.

    Is this a California bike? Most likely smog crap . Can you post pic?

    I'm tryng to rember what my 85 looks like, but it sounds like a vent.

    Correct me if I am wrong but I am calling that float bowl venting.

    On my 83 the tube that your hose is connected to and the other tube like it between the other two carbs go in the carb base plate. Mine don't have a hose connecting them like yours does. See attached photo. I did work on an 84 700 that had the same vent setup as yours. Just wondering if those are original carbs?.

    Yes they are carb's that came with bike new and nothing has been changed so does hose just stay the way it is as a vent tube and just sit under air cleaner thankyou for help and bike has only done 14000kms or 8700 miles.

    Yep, that's the vent tube. It should go into the airbox (I think).

    E-GADS!!! Get that airbox base plate back on there before you break something. You should NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, take that off unless you have to replace one of the carb bodies (read: never).

    Ah.....pictures.

    So much better.

    Fuel bowl vent.

    Goes up and around the aluminum carb plate and gets slipped on to a plastic "spigot" on the front of the plastic air box cover.
