I'm looking to replace the front and rear sets with aftermarkets. Anyone got recommendations for an '04?

I use Competition Werkes foot pegs on my '03. They come in several different colors. I simply prefer them.

The stock foot pegs have rubber covers to isolate your feet from chassis vibrations, and they kind of blur the "feel" of the bike. They're comfy for long distance riding though.

Solid aluminum aftermarket pegs transfer more chassis vibration to your feet, but the trade-off is that you have a more direct connection to the bike's chassis and a more positive "feel" of what the bike is doing. They're excellent for sportier riding.

There are tons of brands and styles of solid aluminum foot pegs out there for you to choose from. If you do decide to go with solid aluminum foot pegs Zoomy make sure that they have a very deep and sharp knurling on the foot peg surface, that way your boots are less likely to slip off the pegs.

I see you got them on your 03. On the comp. werks site they are listed as only fitting up to an 03. Do you have any idea if they would fit an 04?

Zoomy,I checked, the foot peg mounting brackets on your '04 are exactly the same as those on my '03. The Dennis Kirk parts list indicates that the Competition Werkes GP foot pegs will fit all Honda Intercepters from 1998 to 2009. They're sold in pairs. Just so you know, the rider foot pegs are different from the passenger foot pegs so you'll need one set of each.

    Buell XB12 Ulysses pegs

I picked up a set of the Ulysses pegs from my local Harley dealer last week. I love them. they give me an extra inch of leg clearance. They have a nice stable platform, and I do not notice any vibration being transmitted, and I wear solid boots, that would DEFINATELY pass the vibration straight though to me:)

HiĀ” I ordered the front footpegs in ebay, I live in Mexico and we don't have too many options, and the Honda dealer is the worst you can imagine (can delay 6 months to have some spare parts, Go to ebay-Motors-VFR footpegs and you'll find a lot of options at a good price.

Are the Buell pegs a direct bolt on or do you have to modify anything?

    direct swap

they are a direct swap. the hole on the buell footpegs is slightly bigger than the VFR, but it is also offset slightly, so that the stock pin holds it in nicely. I did add a thin washer between the top of the new footpegs and the inside of the footpeg mount to prevent any up / down wiggle as they are also SLIGHTLY smaller in terms of height of the mount.

I did adjust my brake pedal down, but I did NOT adjust my shifter. (I tried adjusting my shifter, but I have size 13 feet, and as such the shifter feels better positioned for me in the stock location. some people with smaller feet have also adjusted the shifter down one setting)

Awesome, thanks for the reply. I've got size 13 feet as well! I can't decide whether to try this or not. The extra leg room would be nice in the straights but I already drag my toe in the corners so it might not be a good idea.

I think any pegs made for a CBR will fit the VFR. Don't quote me but I'm pretty sure.
