OK. After reading & posting in the EXCELLENT 'What's in your tank bag' tread, I just had to do it. Who's packin a heater, a roscoe, hog's leg, runnin heals? And what is it? Wanna details like size, comfort of carry, type of leather, ease of draw an so on.
Normal for me is a Walther P99 9mm, Hornady 115 gn +p+ in a Don Hume leg holster or in the tank bag.

Depends on the current status of the arsenal my recent favorite is a Taurus PT92 9mm 17 rounds as fast as I can pull the trigger either in shoulder holster or in my tank or saddle bags. No so often in the holster as only law enforcment is allowed concealed carry in the great state of WI unless something has changed recently.

Damn, y'all are some heat packing dudes, my little peashooter seems inadequate ......

Colt Cobra .38. packmeyer grips,...small, lightweight, doesnt throw brass. fits in your back pocket or jacket pocket or one of those sidekick holsters in the small of your back.

How do you guys like those Glock 23's? Ever have any trouble with hot loads?

I am looking for a new pistol. Buddy of mine just picked up the Springfield XDm in 9mm. Nice gun but I find the grip annoying for my big hands even with the interchangeable heel plates. Also would prefer something that was designed in house and not a gun that the company purchased rights to (Springfield XD out of Croatia)

I'm looking at the Glock 23, S&W M&P in .40, and MAYBE H&K USP. I'm looking for a full frame more for recreational use and occasional concealed carry. Don't worry about the size of the pistol - I'm huge 6'4 350lbs

I carry a Colt Defender .45 in a small leather paddle holster on my hip. I would like to get a Para because they are little lighter but pretty expensive.

I live in NJ so my "insurance" is foul language & an attitude. It is next to impossible to get a CCL in the CPRofNJ.

When I lived in SC, I packed a Ruger P89/9MM in a Galco armpit holster.

    KC-10 FE out...

Have you looked into used? We picked up a used P12 for about 400 bucks I think at a little gun shop a few months ago.

I haven't looked lately except at a few gun shows. My friend has one and it is a very nice gun. It grip isn't as thick as mine and mine is a lightweight.

Yeah it seems pretty nice, I haven't shot it yet since I was still knocked up when it was purchased. I don't think I would want this particular model though, being double stacked makes it too wide for my hand to be as comfortable as I would like.

    The Glock 23

OK, First off, thanks to all you evil, anti-social, gun-toteing, constitution reading, PEACE LOVING, PREPARED, AND READY TO ACT INDIVIDUALS.

I have a lot of personal experiance with the 23 as well as a lot of other Glocks. Our departments former head fire arm guy LOVED IT, ansd since he did, WE ALL HAD TO! For me, it never fit. I came to the Sheriff's office right outta Special Forces and had a life long hard on for the 1911 .45ACP. But I did learn and go Governers 20 and Distinguished Marksman with the M9 Berretta 9mm. I was not even a Deputy yet and I was training with local SWAT & fired the Glock 21 in .45 ACP. HATED IT. It felt wrong, it didnt seem to recoil the same as any other pistol, and I kept loosing track of how many rounds I fired. My initial meeting with Glock, like most other shooters, frankly sucked. Didnt get that warm and fuzzy feel. The Cop who let me shot it replied, " yep, it sucks, it's ugly as hell, it allways shoots, is extreamly accurate, and has a lot of bullets, who'd want a P.O.S. like that?" I was converted, I now love the 21 and still carry one on duty today. Now back to the 23. It felt like it was too short for my hand. It's sharp recoil made the short palm swell just nail the tender, center palm of my my hand like it was a ball peen hammer, and ok, it did carry alot of bullets. I'm sure the 23 might be great for some, me, it's rough. the .45 has alot less felt recoil, as does the 9mm. Get what fits. Like I mentioned in the first post, I carry a Walther P99 9mm alot off duty, has 3 changable grips, low barrel profile (less tipping or rocking) and shit, its the new James Bond gun:thumbsup: get what fits. Period. But still, if I could have only one, M1911a1 Colt Goverment.
