Does anyone know how to lubricate a throttle on a 1994-1997 VFR? I put some grease on the cable on the handlebar but wasn't sure how to lubricate the throttle tube.

When I used to work in a MC shop, we'd use a small, square aluminum "thing" that attached to the cable end. It had a small opening into which we'd stick the tube coming out of the aerosol can of a lubricant called "Cable Life". This would cause the pressurized lubricant to cleanly and efficiently go all the way through the cable housings. Have not yet tried this on my VFR, though, even though I still have some lube and the attachement.

Some cables have nylon inserts and are not supposed to be lubed, though, and I have not bothered to see if this is the case. If so, then disregard what I wrote above.

Might want to check the return spring under the tank and while you have it off just dap a squrit of lube on the piviot points. by do this you'll also be able to tell if it is a cable or the linkage piviot.
