Hi Guys, I read somewhere that the oil pump for a 86 VF1000R pumped higher volumes than one for a 84-85 VF1000F. Can anyone confirm this, and how come VF1000F owners are not installing these instead?

    Thanks

    There is a rumor

    Hey

There has been said that Vf1000R pumps 18% more then VF1000F pump does. But why would you wanna change it.If you are thinking about the camshafts then you will only solve one problem of two.You will still be pumping bad filtered oil to the camshafts. And what does a Oil pump cost.

    Best regards

I will solve the oil quality problem by installing a oiling kit like the one Jamie provided me for my VF500F. I am completely stripping down the VF1000F engine and thought I would put in a higher volume oil pump as well. Just a thought.

    okay

    Hey

It is just then you have the bad filter oil going to cams just quicker so you do always need to set the oil kit.But yeahh I have an oil kit and have also tought about doing this.Never to bad to have more pressure if your pipes can take it.

    Best regards
