Help: Headlight Issue - '84 vf500

    My headlight is not working. It's not the bulb.

    Where is the fuse for the headlight?

    If that's not it.... What next?

    Start Button

    Sarter button failure is very common reason for headlight problem.

    headlight fuse is under the panel on top of your triple. I think it's the 2nd fuse on the left.

    When you press the start button, the circuitry cuts power to the headlight so the starter can get more electricity. Sometimes, the button's contacts get sticky inside the control pod and you don't get the connection back after you are done starting the bike.

    Open the control pod and spray with contact cleaner and then push the start button back and forth several times. This should help.

    ah..... this might just be the problem that I have been having with mine.... been going on and off and have not been able to find the problem.... will check that out the next time my light is not working...
