In general Purolator makes a very good filter, unlike the orange ones, that price for two is very good. I bought a Scotts about a year ago, have yet to put it on. eddie

That is an excellent deal!!! The Puralator PL14610 is an excellent filter and I've been using it for several years with no issues. I have read however that the manufacturer does not recommend these for motorcycles and suggests using the Purolator ML16817 instead. The only problem is that I can't find the ML16817 at any of my local autoparts stores so I will continue to use the PL14610 since it has served me and many others well in the past. Thanks for the helpful post Soundmaster!!!

    Regards,
    Rollin

Yeah...it's because of the filter material has smaller pores and causes higher pressure to the oil pump.

    "What About PureONE

If you're thinking you want to install a PureONE oil filter on your bike, please think again. PureONE oil filters are designed for vehicles, not bikes. Because of PureONE's high efficiency, the motorcycle oil pump may not be able to handle the pressure. The Purolator motorcycle filter line is designed to meet the specific needs of a bike; therefore we highly recommend the use of a Purolator ML filter over a PureONE oil filter. "

Straight from the manufacturer's web page.
