Maybe a new VFR owner

Well I currently ride a 97 Yamaha FZR. I am looking for a new bike and I'm torn between the VFR and the Speed Triple. Two very different bikes I know but both are capable of comfortable cruising and spirited corner carving. So I have been lurking on group sites for both bikes and learning from you all. As I sit here I'm certainly leaning towards the VFR wish I could find a nice used one in black lol seems like people only sell red ones near me. Anyways any thoughts comments opinions are welcome and appreicated.

Hi Ski. Welcome to the group. Black ones are on 06 model. They also come in white for 06 as well. previous years come in red and silver, but mostly red. Search around the net at online dealers. You might stumble on black one. There is also traderonline.com and craigslist. You might even find one in the classifieds here. Ya just never know. You can post a wnat add in the classifieds that way others who are looking to sell will know of your interest.

 

I appreciate the info that would explain alot on why I can't find a black one. I did find a nice silver one nearby. 9K on the clock. Real clean their asking $5800 seems a little high though on the price I think 5000 would be more reasonable.

I have a friend who just purchased a brand new Daytona 675... He went out on a super long ride from southern NH to Canada witha large group. Now, Ole' Hoss my friend has always heard about these VFR's but never really rode with someone who has one or seen one up close as he was a "Ninja guy" before his triumph...

SO riding in front of him is Brand new Black Intercepter... Ole Hoss is realizing that the rider in question is carving it up pretty good and he realizes that as much as he loves the sound his machine makes he's starting to understand the lust for the V-4 exhaust note....

Essentially what happened was My Buddy Hoss told me he would have no amunition at all to pick on me if I ever step up and bough a new VFR.... But he still picks on my 20 year old VF.... Sigh

 

The sad part for me is I haven't bought the bike yet and I'm already planning the mods for it like the laser exhaust and free street design undertail saddle bags etc... I wonder if that is my subconscience telling me to by the VFR even though it's silver. Well winter is coming I could just repaint it... lol

Correction it's a 2003 for 5800 it has 9400 miles. That seems a little better I have them down to 5100 now what do you guys think?

That is what I was thinking since I have the day off tomorrow I think I will go see about closing the deal. So I guess I will be saying that silver is the faster color here very shortly. That and a lazer exhuast and a fsd undertail and a k and n owww hell here we go again lol
