I know a harleydood who has a pubic hair from Evel Knevil that is encased in plastic. He wears it round his neck.

Unusual for some places to be sure. This is the West Coast where Harleydoods have to do something to stand out.

This is not particularly new. Ebay has had the same Peter Fonda model for sale for at least two years. The same site sells the glow in dark bobblehead Jesus/chiapet/key combo. These are very popular.

I was born with a "666" birthmark on my scalp. Does that count?

I have a small oval "coin" that says "Happy" on one side and has a bee on the other side...from my wife. It is just a symbol of how happy I am with life in general and riding in particular. My charm for pedal-power is a 3" purple army man on the seat cluster of my road bicycle. I found him on the street one day as I rode...he has no head from his time on the street and it contrasts nicely with his outstretched gun-holding hand. Kinda kooky but that's me!

    Thanks Knife. Lmao! :pound:

I've noticed that sewn into the left breast pocket of all my Icon jackets is a St. Christopher medal.

My wife put a silver dollar in my leather. It is getting moved to my tankbag now that it is too hot to wear the leather, and I dont have a pocket suitable in my mesh armor jacket.

"I got one more silver dollar but im not gonna let em catch me, no. Not gonna let em catch the midnight rider"

    Oh man, I love it.

I dont know if its a cultural thing sometimes with the icons or talismans , but the thought that any icon or talisman carries anything other than maybe sentimental value always seemed an unusual thing to me. Apparently its not in a lot of the world, as I have discovered.

Anyways, your harleydood guy cracks me up and made me think of this guy I knew, he was kind of on the periphery of my circle of friends that rode at the time and was one of these over the top characters out of a Coen Bros movie. Imagine "Dog the Bounty Hunter" with the thickest New York-New Jersey accent you ever heard. He was big on talismans, wore a ton of rings and necklaces and each thing had a particular thing that it did or protected him from.

One evening over beers ina local joint someone said to "Dog","Hey I heard youre selling that Harley". At which point in his normal style he stood up and pronounced to the entire place at the top his lungs......DA DAY DAT I SELL MY HAAALEY.....IS DA DAY DAT I AM DEAD..............!!!! . Beer shot out of my nose and my head hit the table, He then stood over me and said WHAT, WHAT, WHAT DID I SAY?

I think many of us carry something not as a voodoo-guardian-talisman but rather, because it has some nice meaning. In my case, since my wife gave me mine, it is just a nice reminder of us.

(Now the shrunken head I have that resembles DerStuka...THAT is definitely a voodoo talisman!)

I figure what might be a hot item for VFR owners would be a talisman/amulet that doubles as a regulator rectifier.

In a small ziplock bag I carry an olivewood rosary from the Holy Land, sandlewood prayer beads from a stint in Yemen and a hand beaded talisman from a Blackfoot Sioux that was on my team. Figure I got it covered.
